Lawsuit Against Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney is Dismissed by Chef Penny Davidi Over Something About Her Sandwich Shop
The lawsuit against Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney over their Something About Her sandwich shop is being dismissed by Chef Penny Davidi.
In her lawsuit, Penny (who was COO/Director of Culinary) said Katie and Ariana didn’t fulfill their agreement to give her a 10-percent cut of the business. The Vanderpump Rules stars denied any wrongdoing.
According to a new report by Us Weekly, Chef Penny told the court on October 2 that she was dismissing her case, which was set to begin trial on March 16 of next year.
But the dismissal depends on certain conditions being met, she claimed. As of now, the conditions are still a mystery.
According to Penny’s suit, they agreed that the three parties would “jointly engage in the business of developing, creating, owning, operating, promoting … and otherwise profiting and benefiting from … a restaurant, fashion, merchandise, and lifestyle, brand, business, and property … to be known as Something About Her.”
She claimed they also agreed to pay her $7,500 a month, and this eventually would increase to up to $10,000 a month.
Last year, Ariana addressed her exit from Pump Rules.
“Thank you especially to the fans,” she wrote on Instagram. “You’ve been the constant over the last decade, your love and support is what I’ll miss the most about it ending. You made this show what it is.”
Around the same time, Katie also reacted to the news.
“Vanderpump Rules as we know it is gonna be no longer,” shared Katie at the time on her Disrespectfully podcast. “They announced last Tuesday that they’re going to be rebooting it with an entirely new cast for season 12, and none of us OGs will be returning.”
“I didn’t plan on returning,” she continued. “Maybe it doesn’t matter at this point, but I had made a decision months ago after [the last reunion] … I needed to move on with my life … And this was before we knew the show is gonna be put on pause … I felt personally ready to move on from the show. I felt like my life and where I was at was moving in a different direction. Mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually, I was prepared.”
The Last of Us Creator Leaving HBO Show Before Season 3
The Last of Us co-showrunner and creator of the video game series Neil Druckmann released an update today on the third season of the show that will have some fans unhappy.
Who is stepping down from The Last of Us TV show?
In a message sent out on game developer Naughty Dog’s official X account, Druckmann announced that he would be stepping back from his creative involvement with the HBO adaptation of the game.
According to Druckmann, he will be stepping away from the show before any “meaningful work” on Season 3 starts. The reason for leaving, Druckmann said, is to put his “complete focus” on Naughty Dog’s ongoing projects, including its next game, the sci-fi project, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
As a result, Craig Mazin — who worked as co-showrunner beside Druckmann — will likely continue writing and directing the series.
“I’ve made the difficult decision to step away from my creative involvement in The Last of Us on HBO,” Druckmann said in his statement. “With work completed on season 2 and before any meaningful work starts on season 3, now is the right time for me to transition my complete focus to Naughty Dog and its future projects, including writing and directing our exciting next game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, along with my responsibilities as Studio Head and Head of Creative.
“Co-creating the show has been a career highlight. It’s been an honor to work alongside Craig Mazin to executive produce, direct and write on the last two seasons. I’m deeply thankful for the thoughtful approach and dedication the talented cast and crew took to adapting The Last of Us Part I and the continued adaptation of The Last of Us Part II.”
Druckmann currently serves as the head and head of creative of Naughty Dog, and is credited with creating The Last of Us game series, as well as co-creating the show.
