“Patricia Altschul Strikes Again”: Southern Charm’s Socialite Gears Up for an Exciting, Game-Changing Career Move That Has Everyone Talking
Patricia Altschul is ready to tell her story.
More than a decade after her Bravo debut, the Southern Charm matriarch announced her plans to release her first-ever memoir, Eat, Drink, and Remarry: Memories from a Lifetime of Art, Class, and Southern Charm. In support of the book, Patricia will take the stage at the ninth annual Charleston Literary Festival hosted at the historic Dock Street Theatre.

According to the Post and Courier, the event will take place from November 7-16 and will feature more than “70 writers and thinkers from around the globe.” This year’s speakers include CNN anchor Jake Tapper, Pulitzer Prize winner Michael Cunningham, Well-Read Black Girl founder Glory Edim, and environmentalist Bill McKibben.

Patricia Altschul shares details on her upcoming memoir
The Charleston resident teased her tell-all book in a March interview with Glamour magazine, confirming that the full text was completed and had already received a rave review.
“I just finished,” she told the outlet at the time. “I think it’s 60,000 words, and I’m now picking out photographs. And not to brag, but the publisher said it was one of the best memoirs he’s ever read. I was very heartened by that.
“Going through everything, going over these events in my life, I was kind of struck by what an interesting life I’ve led,” she continued. “It’ll be ready right before BravoCon 2025.”
Eat, Drink, and Remarry is scheduled to hit shelves on November 11.
Patricia Altschul's Diverse Career Background
There’s no doubt that Patricia has left an indelible mark on the Bravo-verse. Since appearing in Southern Charm’s inaugural season (2014), the Florida-born, Virginia-raised socialite has become widely known for her quick wit, no-nonsense takes, and elegant southern style. But before her reality TV chapter, Patricia was already a well-known figure in high society, specifically in the fine art space.
Patricia, who is also mom to Whitney Sudler-Smith, graduated magnum cum laude from George Washington University, where she received a double master’s in art history and archaeology. She returned to her alma mater as an assistant professor in the art history department and later owned and operated a private art dealership, Arcadia.
Patricia has since expanded her business portfolio into womenswear and home decor pieces sold through HSN. In 2017, she released her first book, The Art of Southern Charm, a lifestyle guide that covered everything from party hosting and dress codes to dating and dinner etiquette.

While Patricia has worn many hats over the years, there’s at least one more role she’s been wishing to take on: grandmother. She touched on the topic in a March interview with The Daily Dish when asked if her bachelor son Whitney was romantically involved.
“I’m still hopeful. As long as I’m still breathing, I’m still hopeful,” she said about Whitney eventually settling down. “I’m not holding my breath, I’ve done it before… He doesn’t like it when I talk about his, you know, who he’s seeing. I don’t know that anything is serious right now. I know there’s a contender, but let’s just wait and see.”

Teresa Giudice shared why it’s been “so hard” for Bravo to “make a decision” about the new season’s cast of the Real Housewives of New Jersey – amid reports that she wasn’t asked back. The star also addressed if she’d consider filming the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City as Whitney Rose’s friend.
According to new reports, Melissa Gorga, Dolores Catania, and Margaret Josephs were the only original stars to film test footage with newbie castmates for the upcoming season. One source claimed that Teresa likely won’t film at all.
On Teresa’s Turning The Tables podcast, the star threw shade at certain costars.
“Basically, they were all trying to ice me out [so that] maybe then Teresa won’t come back,” she explained. “So that’s why it’s been so hard for — I guess Bravo — to make a decision [on] what they want to do.”
Her guest Christian Gray Snow added, “[When Housewives’] focus now is, ‘Hey we gotta make sure that we’re not doing this in this scene and we’re not talking to her in this scene,’ it’s like, now we’re focusing on the wrong thing. The self-producing is … what’s caused problems on these shows.”
“Right,” said Teresa. “And that’s why I feel like Salt Lake City is amazing. I’ve been watching Salt Lake City. I’ve been learning a lot. Yes, so I’ve been reflecting and learning and watching, and we’ll see what the future holds.”
Teresa hinted that she’d consider filming RHOSLC as Whitney’s friend.
“I’m so excited [for the new season] because I love Whitney so much. I’m like, I need to come on Salt Lake City. I’m like, ‘I’ll definitely have your back over there, girl.’ I’m like, ‘And you need to come to Jersey and have my back,'” said Teresa. “That’s my girl in Salt Lake City. I love Whitney. In Miami, I love Alexia and Larsa, even Larsa because Larsa and I did House of Villains together. Yes. And then in Dubai, it’s Chanel. I love Chanel and Taleen because I bonded with them. So I have girls in like a lot of cities.”
