“I still remember the first time I heard your voice through that wall, the soft fabric of the couch under my hands, the dry studio air, the way the room seemed to brighten around your laughter,” Zack wrote. “A week after our first date, my fingers closed around the cool edge of the ring in my pocket as I asked you to marry me. Two weeks later, I tasted champagne and your lipstick as the lights from the set faded and our real life began.”
“We have crossed oceans together. Felt the rumble of planes under our feet. Sugar on our tongues from a tiny candy shop in London. Danced on the wet stones of a Dublin sidewalk. “I am the one who stayed, the one who will keep waking up beside you as our hair grays and our daughter grows. I have been with you longer than anyone else. I intend to make sure no one else ever comes close,” he added.
Zack’s post received a mixed reaction from fans, with several people describing his caption as “creepy” and “possessive.” “Sir… I know your intent wasn’t bad but this is not the best way to express love. Sounds possessive and creepy,” one comment read. “it’s giving insecure,” someone else wrote.
“I don’t like that whole ‘I am the one who stayed’ she’s not a conquest. She’s a human,” another person said, while a popular Facebook post claimed the caption was “guilt-tripping.”
“He didn’t say anything complimentary about his wife in the whole post. It was all self-congratulatory. That is kinda self-centered when it is presented as a ‘we’re so in love!’ post,” one more critique read.

It now omits the mention of “any man who came before me” at the start, and, at the end, says, “I am the one you chose to be with forever. Amid the backlash, several people noted that they felt there was nothing wrong with Zack’s caption. “Based on the comments I thought it was something so terrible and it wasn’t some oddly worded post that anyone with common sense can deduce what he meant,” someone said, while another person wrote, “Omg it was so sweet... He’s always been quirky and whimsical. That’s his charm and she appreciates it.”
