Lisa Rinna Shares Shocking New Details of Infamous RHOBH Fight With Kim Richards in Amsterdam
Lisa Rinna claimed Kim Richards once told her that her famous line, “Let’s not talk about the husband,” was actually “produced,” as Lisa revealed that production was “pushing [her] button.”
During a dinner fight in Amsterdam on season 5 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kim seemingly threatened Lisa, “Let’s talk about the husband [Harry Hamlin] … let’s not talk about what you don’t want out.” Lisa then smashed her glass of wine on the table and lunged toward her. It’s one of the most iconic scenes in the franchise’s history.
On her Let’s Not Talk about the Husband podcast – named after the famous line – Harry asked Lisa if she thought a producer instructed Kim to bring up his name.
“She has since come to me and said ‘I was produced to do that,’” answered Lisa, via Entertainment Now. “Whether that’s true or not … that’s how she dealt with it when we made up in a sense.”
Lisa hinted that producers knew what topics would upset her.
“If you listen to me for long enough, you’d know that if anybody came after [my husband] or the girls, that would be like pushing a big button in me,” said the star. “If you were a smart producer … and you’ve been listening to me for three months in my interviews, you’d be pretty stupid if you didn’t have somebody come after me about the kids or you.”
According to Lisa, she was jet-lagged and tired when the fight took place.
When Harry asked how the situation would have changed if Lisa had simply laughed off Kim’s comment, Lisa answered, “Well I wouldn’t have made a very good Housewife though, if I’d have just laughed.”
Though Kim never disclosed what she meant about Harry, certain rumors were floating around at the time.
“I wish I knew what the rumors were,” said Harry.
“You know them,” Lisa answered. “You are gay and you have affairs in Canada all the time … those are two big ones.”
“I let these rumors … fall off my back like water off a duck’s back,” said Harry.
